In Krivoy Rog, a city in the Dnepropetrovsk region which is
headed by the former Party of Regions member Vladislav Shtefan, a mob of
aggressive young men stormed the city council building, broke into the session
chamber, and occupied it. The 40 policemen who were in the building at the time

plea to ensure law and order in the city.
“Such actions are endangering the provision of vital
services to one of Ukraine’s major industrial centers. The inhabitants of the
city with the population of 700,000 are negatively predisposed toward such
actions by extremists, who are headed by criminal elements.”
