The armament of the new patrol ships, which will join the Black Sea fleet in the near future, will allow to destroy targets in the Mediterranean from the shores of Crimea.

This was reported in an interview to the “Central Navy Portal” by the commander of the division of surface ships of the Black Sea fleet, captain 1st rank, Oleg Krivorog, speaking about the new frigate “Admiral Grigorovich.”

“I will not talk about its weapons, but believe me, the ship is equipped with the latest modern missile systems. The firing range of the main complex is such that from the Black sea it could easily hit targets in the Mediterranean region. And not accidentally the testing of such weapons is planned in the Northern fleet territory, where there is a large territorial expanse. Therefore, we expect the newest ship by fall, after the testing in the Northern fleet,” said Krivorog.

“Our ships are known to constantly carry out the tasks of tracking the NATO ships, which are frequenting the Black sea and are here almost on a regular basis, on rotation. But they don’t escape our watch,” – said the officer.
