Former Presidential candidate of Ukraine, Chairman of Novorossia Parliament
Translated by Kristina Rus
As you know, when someone is fighting on the side of the Kiev regime — he’s a “volunteer”.
But if he is fighting against it – he is a “mercenary”.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decided to cement this “logical” distinction, adopting on first reading a bill No. 2389, according to which the participation of foreigners in the ATO is legalized at the official level.
Now foreigners and stateless persons residing in Ukraine on legal grounds, will be “de jure” (and not in secret as before) accepted on contract into the Ukrainian armed forces, provided with military ranks, compensation (at taxpayers ‘ expense, of course), and after three years of service — a right to citizenship if they want.
At the same time, the Rada amended article 447 of the Criminal Code, instituting punishment for the recruitment of “mercenaries” – from 3 to 8 years in prison. Although, failing to properly explain how these “mercenaries” are different from those who were invited into the Ukrainian army with the same law.
Apparently, one from the other must be distinguished with the help of a “Patriotic sense”, intuitively.
Otherwise it is impossible to explain this mysterious fact.
For the entire year Ukrainian media trumpeted about the outrageous presence in Donetsk and Lugansk of citizens of other states who came to help Novorossia.
Wrote about the Ossetians, the Chechens, the “Buryat tank crews”, about the mysterious “GRU instructors and FSB officers”, and just people from all over Russia, with no relation to the Russian army, who volunteered into the army of the young Republics.
All of them, according to Ukrainian media, were mercenaries. A criminal infiltration of foreigners into the territory of another state, where if anyone has a right to resist, it’s only their own citizens.
But what to do with the fact that the Americans, the Poles, the Swedes, the citizens of Georgia, and even opponents of Ramzan Kadyrov from among the supporters of the so-called “Ichkeria” gathered to serve the Kiev regime?
But they are not mercenaries, explained the Ukrainian media.
They are our brave volunteers.
So there you go.
Well, well, then they should stop talking about only citizens of Ukraine having the right to participate in the conflict.
If the Kiev regime assembles thugs and fascists from all over the world, and intends to keep them in the Ukrainian army at people’s expense, then honest people from all over the world have a right to topple it.
And how they are classified by Kiev – mercenaries or volunteers – we, frankly, do not care.
