Meanwhile in Yemen…

As far as I know, this is the first video-recorded incident of Ansar Allah use of anti-tank guided missiles against Saudi armored vehicles in the current war. If I am not mistaken, they are using the 9K115 Metis ATGM, and the target is a Saudi National Guard LAV-25, one can also discern the LAV-AG assault gun.
At the end of the battle, Yemeni fighters capture yet another Saudi border tower and pose against the backdrop of the destroyed vehicle.

J.Hawk’s Comment: It’s enough to make one wonder how the Saudis were stupid enough to get themselves embroiled in a land war in Yemen. Their military budget might be one of the largest in the world but it doesn’t translate into any real combat power, except maybe in the air, but even there the Saudis are reliant on US-provided intelligence and targeting information.

The Metis is not a new missile–it dates back to the 1980s, and the weapon in question could have been supplied many years ago. Or it could have arrived there very recently…
