Russia deploys special operations troops to Transnistria (Russian RT)
Translated from Russian by J.Hawk
Russia deployed several dozen “reconnaissance groups” on the territory of Transnistria in order to carry out military exercises. The exercises were carried out under conditions resembling combat, according to the Western Military District press service.
“The operational reconnaissance group of RF Armed Forces carried out a raid against a simulated enemy, defeated an ambush, and demonstrated a high level of tactical and special training,” the press release stated.
J.Hawk’s Comment: It’s not mentioned how they troops actually got there, given the “blockade” by Ukraine, but given that they were able to go to, and return from, Transnistria, indicates the blockade exists mainly on paper.
Not to mention that the exercise demonstrates a certain will on part of Russia to protect the enclave.
