What happened in Maryinka?

June 3, 2015

Translated by Kristina Rus

The night cleared the uncertainty. DPR troops have brilliantly executed their morning mission – the attack was unexpected and successful. Everything now morphed into positional battles, ukies pulled reinforcements and I don’t see a point to carry out active fighting in this direction. As I said earlier, mission maximum – is to gain a foothold in Maryinka and spoil the life of settled here junta gunners, who since the summer dug in here for the fun of shelling Donetsk. Tales of an “Avdeevka cauldron,” swallowed even by the military correspondents of “Komsomolskaya Pravda”,  are unrealizable by definition – no one will put hundreds of lives for the sake of a delusional idea. So the militia is digging in on the liberated parts of Maryinka.

In the meantime, according to the Center for operational collaboration, ukies were shelling Petrovsky district of Donetsk from Gornyak (and continue until now). UAF was shelling the airport from Peski. Three mines lost power, miners are evacuated, so far successfully (need to get another hundred).

By 14:55 Maryinsky district (Marinka, Aleksandrovka, partially Krasnogorovka) lost power, part of Petrovsky district of Donetsk, part of the Kirov district (Textilshik). Also in these areas there is no MTS mobile connection, – says “Russian spring”.

The press-service of “Vostok” brigade reported that there was a “massive indiscriminate shelling of the residential district Textilshik from heavy artillery of the Ukrainian armed forces, 152 caliber. There is a complete power outage in the district”.
