Arseniy Yatsenyuk has completed his working visit to the United States. In 48 hours, Ukrainian Prime Minister together with the Minister of Finance, Natalia Jaresko held 30 meetings. In Washington, the Prime Minister spoke with US Vice President Joe Biden, the managing Director of the IMF, Christine Lagarde, the Minister of Energy, Ernest Moniz, the Secretary of the Treasury, Jacob Lew, U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Penny Pritzker, as well as with the leaders of the US Congress.

Yatsenyuk was pleased with the results of the trip  and noted the unprecedented level of support for Ukraine from the United States.

Prime Minister of Ukraine expressed hope that by 2016 the economy will return to growth, and stressed the need to continue reforms of the energy, agricultural sectors [sectors most discussed and of most interest to US leaders? – KR]  and the fight against corruption.

“There is no simple recipe or a quick solution. But I hope that if all goes according to the plan, which we can see, 2016 should be the first year of economic growth”, – stressed Yatsenyuk.

In addition, the Prime Minister said that the priority is to attract American money for the development of Ukraine’s economy.

“Our goal is to attract the maximum number of investors and American money for the development of the Ukrainian economy, to create jobs, restore economic growth in Ukraine”, – he said.
