There was once an airport…

There is no more airport.
Only ruins. As if they’ve been here since antiquity…

When we were here during winter, there were still many burned out APCs, tanks.
Now they’ve been cleared, together with the tons of shell fragments which have been hauled off for scrap.

It’s terrifying to walk there.
There could still be shells ready to explode.
Or the asphalt might give way.

Shrapnel everywhere. From rockets, mortar bombs, artillery shells.
I was horrified to realize that I can already tell them apart…

And the birds are beautifully singing all around us.
Everywhere crickets, hopping and chirping.
The world has gone mad.
