The Russian government is considering expanding
the list of countries that may fall under the food embargo. On Tuesday, Deputy
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Arkady Dvorkovich. According

active consideration. The fundamental approach is that everyone who has imposed
sanctions against us, face an adequate response in the
form of the food embargo. There are nuances, the details of which we are now

At a government
meeting held on August 4, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev suggested to
address Vladimir Putin with a request to extend the list of countries against
which we impose our counter-sanctions. This issue was raised after the head of
EU diplomacy Federica Mogherini reported that six other countries have joined a
prolonged anti-Russian sanctions of the European Union: Montenegro, Albania,
Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Ukraine.
In August 2014 Russia restricted
the import of products from countries that have imposed sanctions against it.
Under the ban were meat, sausages, fish, vegetables, fruit, dairy products. In
June this year, Moscow product embargo was extended for another year – until
August 5, 2016.
