Confirmed: Putin will lead UN General Assembly in NYC

Russian delegation at the 70th session of the UN General Assembly in New York
in September, will be led by President Vladimir Putin. The presidential decree was
published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

The delegation, in particular, will be
composed of the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international
Affairs Konstantin Kosachev, the head of Russian foreign Ministry Sergei
Lavrov, Chairman of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Alexei Pushkov,
assistant to the President Yuri Ushakov.

As deputy delegates to the list were included:
Deputy foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov, Russia’s Ambassador to the U.S. Sergey
Kislyak, the Director of the Department of international organizations of the
Russian foreign Ministry Alexander Pankin, Director of the Department for
non-proliferation and arms control of the Russian foreign Ministry Mikhail
Ulyanov and Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin.

After the President’s participation in the
work of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly Sergey Lavrov is going to
perform duties of the head of the delegation

The Russian foreign Ministry, according to the
order, will approve the composition of the advisors and experts, as well as the
necessary technical personnel.
