According to Dmitry Sablin, the Russian President has effectively said: “We will no longer tolerate the lawlessness of the West.
Those times, when Russia made it possible to disrespect itself, are gone”

Deputy Chairman of the All-Russian public organization of veterans
“Battle Brotherhood”, member of the Federation Council of the Russian
Federation Dmitry Sablin commented on the speech of President Vladimir Putin at
the jubilee session of the UN General Assembly in New York on 28 September
2015:

 The
Russian president said: “When
the U.N. was established, its founders did not in the least think that there
would always be unanimity. The mission of the organization is to seek and reach
compromises, and its strength comes from taking different views and opinions
into consideration.

We think it is an enormous mistake to refuse to cooperate
with the Syrian government and its armed forces, who are valiantly fighting
terrorism face to face. We should finally acknowledge that no one but President
Assad’s armed forces are truly fighting the Islamic State and other terrorist
organizations in Syria”.

President Putin was clear,
precise and specific. He did not expatiate, denouncing tyrants and praising
democracy, repeating the mantra about the universal values that must be
defended.

He spoke about the pressing problems, stressing that the unipolar
world, the attempts to impose some “universal values” at any cost on
mankind, organization of coups from outside pose a threat to all humanity. It
is no longer acceptable to tolerate this situation.

And Russia will not
tolerate it. Those times, when Russia made it possible to disrespect itself, when
the CIA director held “his victory parade” on the Red Square, are
gone.

The sooner it is understood by those who continue to revel in their
hegemony the better. Russia is not alone in its commitment to say
“Enough!” to this international injustice and irresponsible attempts
to solve the world’s problems by using brute force: we are supported by many
countries.

Although in his speech
the Nobel Peace Prize winner Barack Obama promised that the US will not hesitate
to use military force, I hope that the voice of reason will be heard.

And our
Western “partners” will finally begin to use their brains before inciting new wars
– whether in Iraq, Libya, Syria and Ukraine. Too many men, women and children
around the world have already paid with their lives for this aggression, which
is hidden behind democratic slogans.

With regard to the
meeting of the two presidents, it confirmed the obvious truth — without
Russia it is impossible to solve global problems.
