“In Zaporozhye, attacks on ATO participants have begun”

In Zaporozhye, an unknown group dressed in black is attacking Ukrainian soldiers and brutally beating them. A soldier with the call-sign “Cat” from the 81st air-assault brigade recently spent days in the hospital. This has been reported by

The soldier is now in the hospital – he has a concussion, and two ribs, jaw, and a finger broken. The police claim that the victim had no qualms with the attackers and a statement has even been written.

However, the soldier himself, in comments to journalists, noted that the police prompted him to write a statement and blamed them for inactivity: “The policy for the most part aren’t doing shit. They came to me in the hospital and started to persuade me to write an exemption instead of launching an investigation and doing something.”

The Zaporozhyan activist Aleksey Zasoba claims that this is not the first time in the city when soldiers have been beaten. A gang is operating which is using the same methods.

“Over the past ten days, this is already the third case…with the same consequences. Another man was gored on the same afternoon on the same street. The third, in “Tekhnika” district, was not only crippled, but kidnapped for torture. In all of these mentioned cases, three men in dark clothes acted. The police are just throwing up their hands,” Zasoba notes.
