Gennady Korban, colleague of oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, took responsibility for himself, Kolomosky, and their partners, for organizing the mass burning of pro-Russian citizens of Odessa May 2, 2014.

Korban talked about it yesterday at a meeting of the court in Kiev, where they eventually decided to release him from prison to house arrest.

“Igor Kolomoisky telephoned Turchinov, who was filling the role of president, and said: “We are ready to take responsibility and pull the East of Ukraine back from the disaster that was approaching from the Russian Federation … “

We were able to mobilize the security structures that were in the cities, were able to mobilize the activists who came out,** and actually to prevent the fall of the Southeast and its exit to the side of the Russian Federation …

Troubles were planned in Dnepropetrovsk for March 3rd or 4th. Oleg Tsarev was in charge, the MP if you recall. As a result, we bought them all tickets to the Russian Federation, put them on a train and thus saved the South-East of Ukraine.

This was also done in Odessa – where there also were tragic events.  It was also done in Zaporizhya, but this was not done in the Lugansk and Donetsk, because the governor [Sergei] Taruta could neither cope nor resolve this issue the way we had decided,” said Korban.

“I want you to understand how the Dnipropetrovsk region is. Donbass – it’s just the coal and steel output. Yes, coal is important for the country, but the Dnipropetrovsk region – it’s manganese ore, it is iron ore, it’s YuzhMash [Южный Машиностроительный Завод, Southern Machine Factory. They make rockets and missiles]. That is, if the Dnipropetrovsk region fell, today we would be with you all, including the public prosecutors (looks at them at close range) today living in another country – another country! Which would be divided along the Dnieper. There would be no Ukraine today, no Dnipropetrovsk region, no Kherson, no Mykolaiev, no Zaporozhye, and no Odessa.

Because in Zaporozhye last year there was no governor, in fact, we carried out patronage throughout Zaporozhye and on the other side, throughout Odessa. We closed them, carried out operation “pliers.”

After that, in May, we reported to Turchynov, who was then acting president, that the enemy was practically on the verge of the Dnepropetrovsk region. Turchynov said, well, do something if you can. Because sitting in Kiev, they were engaged in a host of other things.

And then we conducted a police operation – it killed 2 or 3 people, not thousands! We liberated the cities of Krasnoarmeysk, Dimitrov, Dobropole, Oleksandrovka, Velyka Novosilka region and and liberated Mariupol together with the “Azov” battalion – boasted the associate of Kolomoisky.
