A convoy of fuel tankers with crude oil, the money from the sale of which IS terrorists call the “blood of Jihad,” was destroyed by the Russian air-space forces. As reported by the official representative of Defense Ministry, Igor Konashenkov, the Islamists transported the “black gold” produced in Syria to Iraq, where the oil refineries under their control are located.

“In the course of conducting aerial reconnaissance near the town of Mayadin, province of Deir ez-Zor, a convoy of trucks heading toward the Syrian-Iraqi border was discovered. The strike on the convoy was carried out by the on duty Su-34. Objective control data confirmed the destruction of a column of fuel tankers” – RIA Novosti quoted Konashenkov.

Also today the Kurdish troops stormed the city of Sinjar in Northern Iraq, previously completely controlled by the “Islamic state”. According to new information, the Kurds have managed to push the terrorists from the village center.

Kristina Rus: According to Komsomolskaya Pravda correspondent Dmitry Steshin who spent a month in Syria covering the war, Russian strategy to cripple the fragmented ISIS units has been to target supply lines and logistics, which was quite successful.
