General director of “Rosoboronexport” [“Russian Defense Export”]  Anatoly Isaykin said that in 2015 there has been a significant surge in orders for Russian arms. He added that this year has been stable, with a stable level of shipments at $12-13 billion. This was reported by  the publishing house “Kommersant”.

“This year we have a significant surge in orders for various types of arms. We have to date received orders of around $18 billion. Today we have a portfolio of orders in the neighborhood of $45 billion,” – said Mr. Isaykin on TV channel “Russia 24”.

BMPD: The volume of contracts in the first 10 months at $18 billion means significant success of the Russian special exporter and a return to the 2012 level when the volume of new contracts reached $17.6 billion at year-end. In 2014  “Rosoboronexport” has signed new contracts worth $13 billion, that is, there is already an increase of almost 50%. Taking into account the remaining two months, as well as other companies involved in arms exports, the volume of new contracts for the year may approach $20 billion.
