Russia’s anti-drug head claims that Afghan opium imported by ISIS is turned into heroin by Turkish labs and is later transported to Russia and Europe. According to Russia, up to 50 tonnes of drugs are transported by ISIS annually, from which ISIS receives up to $500mn.
