German Chancellor Angela Merkel does not want to increase the participation of Germany in the fight against the banned in Russia terrorist organization “Islamic State”. According to the politician, the current activity of Germany in resisting ISIL is enough.

“I think that the USA is exactly the same as France, Britain and other countries, in that they welcomed our decision to actively help in the fight against ISIS now in Syria,” – said the Chancellor on the TV channel ZDF.

The activities of Germany in the fight against ISIL are regulated by the Bundestag. So the country will not go beyond the approved orders. “Germany is contributing, and, in my opinion, now we don’t have to talk about new issues in this regard”, – said Frau Merkel.

Earlier, Spiegel magazine reported that the US offered Germany to increase its involvement in military operations against ISIL militants. It was reported that this message was sent by the U.S. Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter, via his colleague in Germany, Ursula von der Leyen.
