“‘Ukraine has collapsed, and this government must be overthrown’ – SBU general opposes Kiev and comes over to DPR side”

Major general of the security services of Ukraine, Alexander Tretyak, came over to the side of the DPR and expressed readiness to cooperate with the legitimate authorities of the republic.

This was reported today by the press service of the Ministry of State Security of the DPR.

A representative of the Ministry of State Security stated: “SBU general Alexander Tretyak has come over to the side of the DPR. He is ready to cooperate with the authorities of the republic.”

The press-service added that Tretyak called on the people of Ukraine to seek a dismissal of the regime established in the country after the coup of 2014 with the interference of foreign forces and the active participation of political extremists.

“The former employee of the SBU now resides on the territory of the DPR, his home is here, and he is not going to leave anywhere,” the security office of the DPR added.

At different times in the past SBU Major General Alexander Tretyak occupied the posts of First Deputy Head of the Donetsk Region SBU Department, Vice-Governor of the Donetsk region, and head of the SBU department in the Lugansk region. He retired after the coup in Kiev.

In a video which surfaced on the internet, Tretyak calls for the overthrow of the Ukrainian government. He also stated that the Ukrainian state and the army of Ukraine are in a state of total collapse.

“This government must be overthrown!” Alexander Tretyak urged.

The decision of Tretyak to speak in support of the Donetsk People’s Republic is not the first of its kind in which senior members of the armed forces and special services of the Ukraine.

In particular, this summer a former assistant to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Major General Alexander Kolomiets, announced his defection to the side of the DPR.
