The head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, has denied recent media reports of tensions in the region with the Federal government because of disagreements on Turkey. “There is no ambiguity there. Putin is our leader. We appreciate his good attitude towards Tatarstan”, — said the President of Tatarstan in evening interviews to local TV channels.
According to him, the disorder of Russia and Turkey’s relations does not apply to the Turkish people. “President Putin has twice said that the Turkish people are friendly to us. We invited Turkish business. Turkish companies believe our president and got the status of a resident (Yelabuga) through the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia. In this case, too, I am accountable to the leadership of our country”, — said the leader of Tatarstan.
He also stressed that without good relations with President Vladimir Putin and the Federal government; the Tatarstan authorities would be unable to hold the Universiade or the World Championship in water sports. In turn, the Republic actively participates in all Federal programs and responsibly implements the installations of President Vladimir Putin. “The Republic of Tatarstan is the most reliable stronghold of the leadership of our country”, — concluded the President.
