Ukraine reacts with calls to boycott the company.

Coca-Cola apologized to Russians for the wrong map of our country, attached to a New Year’s greeting, which the company has posted on its page in “Vkontakte”. In addition, the company has published a new and corrected map where the city of Kaliningrad, the Kuril Islands and Crimea were marked as Russian territory.

Первоначальный вариант карты: Российская Федерация недосчиталась Калининградской области и Крыма!

“We sincerely apologize for the situation. The map has been fixed! We hope for your understanding”, – Coca-Cola responded to the accusations of a poor knowledge of geography.

However, the response caused an outrage from the Ukrainian side. In particular, the leader of the nationalist organization “Svoboda,” Oleg Tyagnybok urged the Ukrainian authorities to ban Coca-Cola in the country. “Authorities! You must immediately ban the activities of this American company in Ukraine, which de facto recognized Crimea under Moscow,” – wrote Tyagnybok on his page in Facebook.
