Lenur Islyamov has spoken about the new format of the blockade of the Crimea. Crimean Tatars are to form a battalion to be on duty on the border with Crimea in preperation to enter the Peninsula.
The coordinator of the siege of Crimea, Lenur Islyamov, spoke about changing the format of the action. According to him, a Crimean battalion will be formed from the National Guard, the APU and the security forces for the protection of the border of the Peninsula. This was reported by Ukrainian media.
Islyamov noted that the participants of the embargo will now control the administrative border of the Kherson region and Crimea together with representatives of power structures.
“We will form a civil association which will be based on three control points of entry and exit — Chongar, Chaplynka and Kalanchak. And it will be legislated,” said Islyamov.
He also regarded the blockade of Crimea as a success. One of the results of the blockade according to Islyamov was the Cabinet’s decision on cessation of trade with Crimea.
As a reminder, on December 31st, Lenur Islyamov announced the abolition of the food embargo of the Peninsula due to its uselessness.
