During the protest rally in Chisinau, the Moldovan opposition announced the creation of a Committee of national salvation. This was stated by the leader of the socialist party of the country Igor Dodon.
“The Committee will offer a program for bringing the country out of a devastating political and economic crisis into which the current government plunged into,” said the oppositionist.
He also noted that despite some differences, the mass action will be held in conjunction with “Our party” and the center-right platform “DA”.
We were scattered, and we had different ideas. Now we were united for one purpose — carrying out prescheduled parliamentary elections,” said Igor Dodon.
Recall that on January 20th, in Chisinau, a mass protest was held, which grew into riots and the storming of the Parliament building of the country. The demonstrators broke through a police cordon and stormed into the offices of the Legislative Assembly, demanding a meeting with deputies.
The reason for the protests was the vote on the composition of the government. A new cabinet was approved on January 20th in just a few minutes and without discussion of its program activities, as well as questions to the candidates for Ministers.
