At 12:15 on the 10th January in Kirovograd, a rally of Pro-Ukrainian supporters took place.
It was initially planned that, on the area of the City Council, a rally against the renaming of Kirovograd to Elisavetgrad would be held, but before the organizers decided to abandon the rally it was announced the issue would be considered in the Verkhovna Rada.
However, the City Council representatives of various parties and public organizations that advocate for any Pro-Ukrainian name of the city arrived.
“We are categorically against Kirovograd Elisavetgrad. We will support any name, as long as it was Pro-Ukrainian,” – said the leader of ATO veterans “Battle brotherhood” Alexander Velichko.
It should be noted that the city Council and supporters of a name change of Kirovograd to Elisavetgrad did arrive at the rally. The atmosphere at the venue of the rally remains peaceful.
Earlier, at the same time as the rally in Kirovograd, participants of the meeting clashed.
