After the reunification of Crimea with Russia, the majority of the local employees of the SBU decided to stay on the Peninsula and to transfer to the service of Russian law enforcement.

As was stated by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on national security and defence, Sergey Pashinsky, Kiev has lost more than 2 thousand employees. Only 215 employees are left the territory of Ukraine.

According to the Ukrainian official, the remaining staff supported the position of Russia or even “were agents of the Kremlin”.

A similar situation happened with the military. Out of 20 thousand troops on the mainland, only 6,000 have returned. As was previously reported, the Ukrainian nationalists do not share the “aspirations” of the Tatars who identify with Crimea.
