The mayor of Odessa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, commented on the Odessa City Council’s decision “On the adoption of the Memorandum on the position of the Odessa city Council concerning the occupation of Crimea, hostilities in Eastern Ukraine and other encroachments on the territorial integrity of Ukraine”.
More precisely, after the decision, the mayor of Odessa took the floor and stated that he did not want to comment on it, but still commented.
“I don’t want to comment on that now. This is wrong. Our actions and political statements – it’s just part of the job, which the city authorities should do. We must strengthen the defense capability of the country. We do this to ensure our defenders feel confident. Everyone has a task. Nothing is more important than when an officer, on a combat mission, feels that everything is well in the heartland,” said Trukhanov.
After the confirmation of his words, Gennady Trukhanov solemnly handed over apartment keys to two of the members of the ATO: Colonel Vitaly Danilko and the fighter of “Storm” battalion Evgeny Miroshnichenko.
