Representatives of three states addressed a joint request to the UN Security Council after the rocket launch of the DPRK, Reuters reports.

The United States, South Korea and Japan required the convening of an emergency meeting on the condition of anonymity, said the diplomats.

According to them, the meeting may take place on 7th February in the afternoon. Additional information is not yet known.

Earlier it became known that the United States will monitor the trajectory of the DPRK’s launched rockets. The President of South Korea, in turn, convened an emergency meeting.

Despite Pyongyang’s announcement of the launch of a satellite, global surveillance suggest that North Korea is testing an Intercontinental ballistic missile. The data on the planned launch has a caused negative reaction within the world community, including Russia, USA, China, Japan and other countries.
