In Riga, at the annual march venerating the Waffen SS legionnaires and their supporters, included along with little more than a thousand participants were also representatives of Ukrainian neo-Nazi regiment of Azov.

Ukrainian Nazis were carrying the flags of their regiment, with the image of the ‘wolfsangel’ rune, borrowed from the SS.

“We are invited here as normal guys,” – said one of the representatives of Azov.

The procession angered anti-fascist organizations all over the world, since the laying of flowers at the “Freedom Monument” is a glorification of Nazism.

March 16th is celebrated as the day of Latvian legion. According to the official interpretation of the history of Latvian legionaries, the 15th and 19th SS divisions fought against the Soviet occupation of Latvia for “freedom”. They numbered about 140 thousand soldiers.
