A protest was held outside the walls of the Ukrainian Embassy in Moscow, which demanded the condemnation of Nadiya Savchenko for the murder of journalists from VGTRK, Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin. The rally was attended by over 200 people.
Activists were holding portraits of the dead reporters and chanted the slogans: “We will not forget! Not sorry!”, “Savchenko behind bars!”, “Bring the killer of journalists to justice!”. Many of the participants were wearing t-shirts with the inscription “Savchenko is guilty of their death”.
“We believe that Savchenko should be punished for murder, which will be determined by the court. We are sure that those who try to justify Nadiya’s actions should first think about human rights in Ukraine, where tens of thousands of people have been killed. And the UN must consider the issues of detention in Guantanamo Bay. If a sanctions list is to be introduced, let’s start with Russian pilot Yaroshenko,” said the protesters.
During the proceedings in court, when asked for any final words, Savchenko announced the continuation of the hunger strike, showed the judge an obscene gesture and said: “Here you have my last word.”
