Ukraine is now on a path of collision between two civilizations, said the leader of the faction of the PPO.

The European Union should admit that Ukrainians and Europeans are “one blood” and should offer Ukraine solidarity and support in the struggle for world order. This was stated by the head of the faction “Bloc of Petro Poroshenko”, Yuriy Lutsenko, during a press conference of the leaders of factions of the Ukrainian Parliament in Brussels, according to the press service of the BPP.

“What do we want from Europe? We are ready to shed blood for the freedom of Ukraine and Europe, but we wish we were told: “We are one blood!”. Like Kipling said: “Ukrainians, we are of the same blood!”. That’s all we ask of the Dutch and all Europeans. We will be on the front line of this war, and we ask that we are given solidarity and support for those thousands of dead soldiers and more than dead 10,000 civilians,” – said Lutsenko.

The leader of the faction also believes that the Dutch should remember that Ukraine has 45 million people in the country who 350 years ago, were kidnapped from their European home, which is now on the path of a collision between two civilizations.

“For all these centuries Ukraine was a military ground  between three empires. This is our destiny. We have always fought for freedom, and paid for it with blood. And this time, during Putin’s aggression, we pay in blood — our soldiers today are fighting not only for Ukraine, they fight for a world order that challenges Putin. No one doubts that this war is not for territory. This war is for rules in Europe”, – said Yuriy Lutsenko.

As a reminder, according to opinion polls, the vast majority of the Netherlanders are opposed to the ratification by their country of the Association agreement EU-Ukraine. More than 50% are sure that they will vote against the referendum, another 25% are “most likely to reject” the agreement.

On 7th February, it became known that the Dutch government intends to consider the results of the referendum on the Agreement on Association of Ukraine with the EU.
