Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt will head the new advisory council at the Pentagon
American billionaire Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google, will head the new advisory council on innovation at the Pentagon, Reuters reports.
This was announced by the U.S. Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter at a conference on cyber security in San Francisco. According to him, the new department of the military agency aims to contribute recent advances of Silicon valley to Pentagon’s operations.
It is worth noting that Eric Schmidt is on the board for science and technology under the President of the United States. During one of the discussions at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, he stated that the Internet will soon disappear.
“There will be so many IP addresses, so many devices, sensors, things that you are wearing, things that you interact that you will no longer even feel it. It will be a permanent part of your presence” – Schmidt responded to the question, how he sees the future of the web.
