President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko, who arrived in Turkey on Wednesday for a two-day visit.
Earlier in the visit, a meeting between Poroshenko and the Prime Minister of Turkey, Ahmet Davutoglu, took place.
Erdogan met Poroshenko at the main entrance to the presidential Palace. The national anthems of the two countries were played and given a volley of cannons. The President of Ukraine greeted the honor guard in Turkish. After the ceremony, the one-to-one meeting of the presidents started. The President then opened the meeting of the Turkey-Ukraine High Level Strategic Cooperation Council. Upon completion there will be a planned joint press conference with Erdoğan and Poroshenko.
On Thursday, Poroshenko is expected to meet with representatives of leading Turkish business circles. The President of Ukraine will also give an interview to the Turkish channel TRТ, and will meet with the Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew in Istanbul.
[O.R: What do Ukraine and Turkey have in common? They both assist ISIS in smuggling jihadis among refugees into Europe, as well as smuggling arms and cash into Syria. Erdoğan is currently blackmailing Merkel in order to receive more funds for Operation Gladio B.
