Scandal on Kulikovo Field: Activists Prevent Laying of Flowers and Commemoration

The Odessa “Self-defense Maidan”, led by well-known activist and fighter with the elderly on Kulikovo field, Todor Panevsky, again attacked people at the House of Trade Unions.

This afternoon, on Kulikovo field, a traditional rally was scheduled to be held in memory of the victims on May 2nd 2014. In the morning, they began to bring wreaths and flowers to the House of Trade Unions, but activists attacked the flower-bearing women and threw away everything they had brought. The police intervened in the clashes. The  activists verbally made it known that they do not intend to leave, and will strongly discourage the holding of a commemorative meeting.
