Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s three-day visit to Washington for the summit on nuclear security from March 31st to April 1st cost the Ukrainian budget at least 5 million hryvnia.
Such figures are taken from the Presidential Administration’s response to the request of Hromadske TV.
“During the Washington nuclear security summit, Poroshenko stayed at The Ritz Carlton Georgetown, one of the most expensive hotels in the US, where a single night in a presidential suite costs $5,500,” the journalist reports.
The costs of accommodation for Poroshenko, the official delegation, and accompanying persons amounted to $46,200 (1,247,000 hryvnia), the Presidential Administration replied in response.
In addition, the transport costs of the Ukrainian delegation’s visit to the US amounted to 3,166,000 hryvnia. The vehicle rented for transport alone cost $8,400. Poroshenko’s administration confirmed that the costs of official delegations’ visits abroad are covered by the state.
