The Prime Minister of Turkey, Ahmet Davutoglu, stated in an interview to Al Jazeera Turk that Turkey is ready to deploy ground troops to Syria if the need arises.

“If necessary, we will send troops to Syria. We will take all measures to protect our countries both inside and outside of its borders. The UN has adopted many resolutions regarding the fight against ISIS. Therefore, as a measure of self-defense and with the aim of fighting terrorism, these resolutions now provide legitimacy to our actions,” the politician said.
According to Davutoglu, Ankara as before prefers to reach an international agreement. He noted that the activities of the Islamic State terrorist group, however, are a problem that affects everyone.
