Yesterday, the whole world followed the classical music concert directed by the famous conductor Valeriy Gergiev at the amphitheater in the pearl city of Palmyra recently liberated from ISIS occupation.
The concert of the world-famous conductor was held six months after the liberation of the city…Not too long ago, there were still ISIS Islamists who committed mass executions on the very spot where the concert was held. In one of them, adolescents were forced to participate.
The concert was dedicated to the fallen soldiers of Syrian government forces and the Russian special serviceman, Alexander Prokhorenko, who was killed when he directed an airstrike against himself when surrounded by militants during the liberation of Palmyra.
Following the concert, however, the American journal Foreign Policy, which is close to US conservative circles, called Valery Gergiev “Putin’s conductor of propaganda.”
