The Verkhovna Rada deputy Anna Gopko called for “Europe as a continent to be saved” by accepting Ukraine’s ascension into the EU in the place left by Great Britain. According to the deputy, Berlin should “take the lead” in immediately accepting Ukraine into the EU.
“Peace in Ukraine is all the less interesting to Europeans. Therefore, Berlin should take the lead: having lost Britain, Europe should accept Ukraine,” Gopko is quoted as saying by Life Channel.
The deputy of the Verkhovna Rada also threatened Germany with the fact that Ukrainians could change their minds and not want to join the European Union.
“With their games in delaying granting Ukraine a visa-free regime, the EU and Berlin are going to finish badly to the point that our people will also no longer want to be in europe,” Anna Gopko concluded.
Since the success of the British supporters of Brexit, the necessity of leaving the EU is being all the more actively discussed in other countries of the EU.
