The Syrian Army is continuing its offensive on the capital of ISIS, the city of Raqqa.
Government forces of the Syrian Arab Republic, together with the Desert Falcons, are successfully continuing to lead offensive battles and move in the direction of Al-Thawrah in Raqqa province.
In addition, ISIS militants have attempted to cut off government troop groups from the flanks in order to isolate the approach of reserves from Quneitra.
This has been reported to Russian Spring by a military source.
“The terrorists have attacked government forces of the Syrian Arab Republic from five directions simultaneously, including at the residential areas of Bir-Nbaj, Bir-abu-al-Allaj, Djedin, and two commanding heights. Over the course of combat operations, all of the attacks have been repulsed. The militant’s losses amounted to 50 killed and around 80 wounded. Four trucks mounted with heavy machine guns were destroyed and dozens of firearms and grenade launchers have been seized,” the source told Russian Spring.
It is also being reported that in western Raqqa province, the army has eliminated 16 ISIS terrorists, among whom were foreign mercenaries.
The army opened fire on militants after they attempted to infiltrate and attack one of the strongholds along the Quneitra-Tabaq line in the Zakia district.
