On Tuesday, the staff of the Kharkov and Kiev departments of the Security Service, with a search warrant, raided the home of the leader of the local Communists, ex-People’s Deputy of the 4th Verkhovna Radas of Ukraine Alla Aleksandrovska, after which she was arrested. This information was told to by her son, coordinator of the civil platform “For Kharkov!” Aleksandr Aleksandrovsky, who linked the arrest with the political activities of his mother.

“Alla is presently located in the Kharkov Department of the Security Service of Ukraine. Soon the court will decide on the definition of the measure of restraint. They are trying to press charges under article 110 of the criminal code – “Encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine,” said Aleksandr Aleksandrovsky, fearing for the life and health of his 68-year-old mother.

According to him, prior to that, similar actions of SBU employees were made in respect of other civil activists who went missing. Aleksandr notes that the Kiev government usually eliminates their political rivals who enjoy the support of the population.

According to him, Alla has consistently defended the interests of a significant part of Kharkov, whose position is ignored by the current government, and tried by all legitimate means to convey to the Ukrainian leadership the urgent need for economic reforms and decentralization, which would attract investment and significant economic benefits.
