Missing DPRK Diplomat Flew to Belarus and Then to Ukraine

A North Korean diplomat went to Ukraine are flying to Belarus from St. Petersburg, reported RIA Novosti on Saturday, citing a source in law enforcement bodies.

Russian police earlier began checking the statements of the representative of the Embassy of Korea in St. Petersburg about the disappearance of the third Secretary of the Embassy, who has not communicated since July 1st. On Friday, a source in the structure of the St. Petersburg “Pulkovo” airport informed RIA Novosti of the news that the wanted diplomat flew to Minsk.

“According to the information obtained during operational work, the diplomat left St. Petersburg by purchasing a ticket to Belarus. According to preliminary information, from there then he went to Ukraine,” said the agency’s interlocutor.

He added that the official car of the Embassy employee was found at Hotel “Pulkovskaya”.

According to media reports, the third Secretary of the Embassy of Korea in Russia Kim Chor Sen flew to Minsk from St. Petersburg with his wife and son. The family purchased plane tickets for the airline “Belavia” three hours prior to departure.
