In Rio, 20 year old Margarita Mamun placed in Gold medal position over 18 year old Yana Kudryavtseva, in the individual programme of Rhythmic Gymnastics.
Yana is the reigning World Champion, but the two frequently grace the podium together, alternating between Gold and Silver positions. They did not fail to deliver the same in Rio 2016.

As a total, Russia placed 4th at the previous summer Olympics (2012) in London, and 4th this year in Rio. It seems that no matter what they do – WADA has failed to force a humiliating result on the Russian team, as part of their politicised “doping” games.
In light of this, they must have thought “How else can we upset the Russian team? Let’s pick on the disabled people!” This seems to literally be WADA’s thought process, as the Paralympians have been blanket-banned from attendance.
Gold medalists have received the equivalent of $62,000 USD, and slightly less for Silver and Bronze medalists. All medalists have also received BMW vehicles, presented to them by the President at the Kremlin.
Well done, Team Russia!
