Serbia inspects combat readiness of armed forces

The Serbian Ministry of Defense reported that a surprise inspection of combat readiness of the armed forces was carried out, which was performed by order of the Minister of Defence, Zoran Djordjevic via the decision of President Tomislav Nikolic. 

“We are talking about an extraordinary and undeclared advance field testing of the operational capabilities of the Rapid Reaction Force, which will run until March 9th, in many places in Serbia”, said the Ministry of Defense in a statement about the inspection.

The  inspection was launched on Tuesday with an alarm signal from the Operational center of the defense system, which was attended by the Minister of Defense and Chief of Staff, Ljubisa Dikovich.

“During the inspection time we will test the readiness of units as soon as possible to respond to the tasks in the prospective scenarios of crisis situations. Part of the training activities will be carried out with combined mobile units, combat shooting, and the solution of various combat missions with special purposes.”, Noted the Defense Ministry of Serbia.

The purpose of testing is stated to achieve a higher level of proficiency and combat readiness of the Serbian military to respond to threats to national security.
