Ramzan Kadyrov, Head of the Chechen Republic, has spoken out in relation to the recent US airstrike on Syria – calling it illegal and in contravention to all international norms. He recalled the decade -long struggle that took place on Chechen territory in the 1990s, when Western intelligence services funnelled foreign mercenaries into the area in their thousands.
This was done together with Saudi Wahhabi counterparts, who sent clerics into Chechnya in order to radicalise Russia’s Muslim province; as well as Russia’s oligarchs of the 1990s, in anticipation of destroying Russia from within, and removing Putin from power. A multitude of evidence exists of Western NGOs, such as “Doctors without Borders” transporting weaponry and aid to the militants at the time.
Today, any form of radical teaching of Islam is forbidden in Chechnya. Kadyrov’s own father, Akhmad Kadyrov, was killed in a terrorist attack in 2004 for cooperating with the Kremlin. Shamil Basayev took responsibility for the attack, who in the early 2000s, was funded by none other than “Putin-regime-hating” oligarch Boris Berezovsky. Basayev was killed by the FSB in 2006, and Berezovsky is thought to have taken his own life in his London mansion in 2014.
Shamil Basayev – index finger pointing to the sky is a Wahhabi gesture and can be found in most radical Islam propaganda
With the start of Russia’s Syrian campaign, Kadyrov personally asked President Putin to send Chechen forces into Syria, given their familiarity with the type of rebels they were up against. Kadyrov’s forces have similarly sworn allegiance to Russia and Putin, which you can find linked at the end of this video.
