Malaysian Police confirmed death of Mohamad Wanndy Mohamad Jedi, an ISIS terrorist and one of the most wanted persons by the Malaysian security services.

Khalid Abu Bakr, Inspector General of Malaysian Police, wrote on his Twitter account that Mohamad Wanndy Mohamad Jedi was killed in a drone attack on the 29th of April in Raqqah, Northern Syria, thus confirming earlier reports on his death.

The 26 year-old Malaysian citizen was designated as one of the most dangerous international terrorists by the US and has been fighting alongside ISIS in Syria since 2014.

Malaysian police also accused Jedi of masterminding a bomb attack at a Puchong nightclub near the capital city of Kuala Lumpur back in June 28th, 2016 and which resulted in 8 people being injured.

Jedi announced responsibility for the attack in the name of ISIS through social networking sites. So far, this was the only ISIS terror attack in Malaysia that resulted in casualties.

The attention to Jedi was first paid back in 2015, when he appeared in a video, showing an execution of a Syrian civilian at the hands of ISIS terrorists.

Not long after he gained a reputation as a person who is recruiting people for ISIS through social networking sites, while using the pseudonyme of “Abu Hamza Al Fateh.”

According to the data from the counter-terrorism department of Malaysian Police, Jedi was responsible for recruiting at least a third of the 250 Malaysian citizens who were arrested between 2013 and 2016, after they attempted to join the ranks of ISIS and the related terrorist groups.
