The Moldovan authorities have announced the expulsion of five Russian diplomats. This was announced on Monday, May 29, in Moldova’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tass reports. It is specified that they are declared persona non grata.

“We have received the relevant document, we are studying it. For now, we will not comment,” Russian ambassador to Moldova Farit Mukhametshin told the agency.

The names of the diplomats are not specified, but according to Interfax, among them is Alexander Grudin, the assistant military attache of the Russian embassy in the republic. In March of this year, the Moldovan special services said that he was maintaining contact with Yuri Bolbochan, former member of parliament, who has been detained in the course of an investigation of espionage in favor of Russia.
