Units of the Syrian Army thwarted another attack by ISIS, this time aimed at several military posts in Rajem Al Ali, Tal Shiha and Talet Al Medrajeh, located in the eastern countryside of Homs Province.
According to the field reports, terrorists were coming from several axes towards military posts in Rajem Al Ali, Tal Shiha and Talet Al Medrajeh, located about 80km east of Homs city. Scores of terrorists were killed during their failed attempt, in addition to destruction of two machine-gun-equipped pick-up cars. Some of the terrorists managed to survive and have since fled in direction of Al Badia.
Operations also continued against ISIS, Hay’at Tahrir Al Sham, Al Nusra Front and their allies in the countryside of Hama province.
Earlier on Monday, Syrian forces carried out special operations against gatherings and movements of ISIS and Al Nusra Front terrorists in the eastern and southern countrysides of Hama.
Intense strikes were launched, targeting ISIS movements on the road between Salamiyeh, Al Sheikh Hilal and Athrieh in the eastern countryside of Hama province, resulting in the killing of all terrorists at the scene and destruction of a vehicle, equipped with heavy machine-gun.
Members of three different terrorist groups, aligned with Al Nusra Front, were killed during series of strikes on their gatherings and movements near the roundabout of Hurr Binafseh village, the surrounding areas of Al Zaraa village, and west of Al Abbara. A terrorist known as “Abu Qatada” was identified among the dead terrorists.
Later on Monday afternoon, Syrian Army resumed its major-scale anti-ISIS operation, east of Palmyra. The operation was briefly stopped after several Syrian troops were gunned down by ISIS next to Talilah crossroad. At the moment, Syrian forces are being aided by Russian helicopters that have already carried several intense strikes on ISIS positions in Talilah, T3 Airbase and Arak.
Army units also targeted ISIS positions in the town of Al Mohassan, located in the eastern province of Deir Ez Zour.
