Tajikistan will not participate in ‘Immortal Regiment’ – against Islamic Values

It has been decided that Islamic values are against the “Immortal regiment” campaign. In 2017, the “Immortal Regiment” will not be held in Tajikistan. Among the reasons, as reported in the official National News of Tajikistan “Khovar”, is that it is interpreted to be against Islam to go out with leaflets and portraits of the deceased.

Tajik President, Emomali Rakhmon, approved the action plan for the military parade, the report says. The Ministry of Defense of Tajikistan has begun the rehearsal of the military parade. In Tajikistan, there are only 447 participants and veterans of the Great Patriotic War. The Tajik President instructed the heads of regions and districts, as well as the mayor of Dushanbe to help the participants and veterans of the Great Patriotic War to get there, to congratulate them, to provide primary care. Each participant is allocated 300 somoni (about $350 USD)
