Ukraine’s security services are utilising drug addicts, who are currently undergoing methadone substitution therapy, to perform espionage duties. This was reported by the Ministry of State Security of the Lugansk People’s Republic.
“Ukraine’s security services not only control drug trafficking in the LPR area, but also supervise the methadone substitution program in order to utilise drug addicts to commit criminal acts”, – noted in the Ministry of State Security.
It has been establushed that a recruited resident, Vitaly Zheldak, to whom the call sign” Stakhanovite was given , fulfilled the task of collecting military information in exchange for the participation in methadone maintenance treatment – said the Ministry.
“Knowing that I depend on this medication, forced me to sign a piece of paper on cooperating with them, constantly asking me to photograph various areas. ” – said Zheldak.
The Ministry reminds that cooperation with foreign intelligence services is prohibited by law in the Lugansk People’s Republic, and threatens criminal liability punishment of up to 20 years imprisonment with confiscation of property.
As a reminder, the British edition of The Economist has recently published material, which stated that the Ukrainian army in the Donbass is mired in drug addiction and alcoholism. This kind of material is uncharacteristic for the liberal magazine of anti-Russian sentiment. There is also public opinion that serving in the regime of Petro Poroshenko is only possible under the influence of drugs or alcohol, given that a healthy mind understands the repercussions of their actions to the full extent.
