Since its inauguration, Astana Expo 2017 has registered 300,000 visitors. Akhmetzhan Yessimov, the chairman of the exposure company, announced this. “The exhibition is of great interest”, he said. The number of entrances to the exhibition facilities (including the same visitors) exceeded two million people”.

According to Yessimov, the successful turnout is mainly due to a good promotion of the event by the organizers. In a week, he said, about 3,000 articles on the Expo have been published, including 700 stories around the world. “The opening ceremony was broadcasted free of charge by 385 local and foreign television channels”, Yessimov continued. Live streaming was performed in Austria, Belarus, Czech Republic, China, Germany, Poland, Russia, Spain, UK, Ukraine and other countries. Approximately 270,000 people watched the broadcast via YouTube and the show site. And the number of followers grows every day. “

With such broad media coverage, the Astana Expo chairman believes that by the end of the exhibition the number of visitors will be higher than the one expected. Indeed, he said: “The global public potential amounted to 1.5 billion people. We expect to reach 2.5 billion people by the end of the year”.

In two weeks, 281 cultural and business events and 50 protocols were organized with the participation of heads of state, ministers, and international pavilions commissioners. Currently, the most visited pavilion is Kazakhstan’s. With an area of 5,000 square meters located on the ground floor, it showcases Kazakhstan’s history and culture, as well as the findings of Kazakh scientists in the energy sector.
