Two wind energy projects for a total capacity of 291 MW. This is how Enel, through its subsidiary Enel Russia, is entering the Federation’s renewable energy market.
The group won the two wind energy projects, in the framework of the Russian government’s 2017 bid for the country’s 1.9 GW wind power production. The projects will be developed and built by Enel Green Power and the total investment in the two wind farms will be around 405 million euros.
“We are very pleased with this result because we want to actively contribute to the transition towards a more eco-sustainable future in Russia, a country characterised by immense potential for green energy not yet fully developed,” said Antonio Cammisecra, of Enel Green Power.
We look at the result of the race as at the start of a sustainable wind power chain in Russia, capable of creating benefits for both the environment and the full development of the country’s renewable energy sector. We can maximise this great potential thanks to the uniqueness of our global expertise in green energy and our ten-year operating experience in the Russian market. “
The two plants will sell their energy on the Russian wholesale market and will be supported by capacity payment agreements with the Government of the Federation.
