June 19th, 2017 – Fort Russ News –
The draft law proposed by Kiev on the reintegration of Donbass involves a “military operation” under the guidance of the President of Ukraine, – said the deputy of the “People’s Front, a member of the parliamentary committee on National Security and Defense, Dmitri Tymchuk.
“What is proposed to replace the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) is in fact a military operation, led not the security services (as it is now, in ATO mode), but operational command of the army. The commander in chief will be the President of the country. The use of forces in the operation will be up to the President, who can involve other law enforcement agencies, but under the overall management of the military.” – Ukrainian MP wrote to Facebook.
According to him, the law will not be a waiver of the Minsk agreements, and would “breathe new life into them.”
The Donbass disagrees.
Minsk agreement representative, of Donetsk, Denis Pushilin stated that they will be rejecting Kiev’s new plan for the reintegration of Donbass. Pushilin stressed that to implement such measures between the Government of Ukraine and the Republic, there must first be an element of trust, which currently does not exist.
“After three years of war, it’s like they want to say “let’s forget all that, this will go well.” The Donetsk and Lugansk republics will not believe that therefore, this option is not considered”
He also added that the plan does not correspond to the Minsk Agreement clauses, which today is regarded as the only possible measure to resolve the situation in the Donbass.
